The Bridge Garden lies in the shelter of the railway bridge on Sutton Court Road, where the road curves to meet the railway line. The corner had become a weed- and litter-strewn eyesore.
Local residents cleared the weeds and rubbish, and then over the autumn and winter of 2018-2019 planted up the area. Donated trees – a silver birch, a fig, two plum trees – provided structure, and a selection of insect-friendly plants were sown. It is now a well-established curve with maturing trees and interesting planting.
