Launch Day!

We had a very fun launch of the Chelsea Fringe’s Edible Herbal High Road with a whole day of herb-themed workshops and activities. 60 mini-herb gardens are now out and around Chiswick High Road, Turnham Green Terrace and Devonshire Road. The boxes contain plants decorated and grown by local schools, including  lavender and rosemary, with Borlotti and French beans, peas, nasturtiums and sweet peas. If the sun comes out (!) they will be beautifully fragrant and colourful.

We would like to thank everyone who got involved, from volunteers, schools, churches, nursing homes and, of course, the local businesses who are each hosting a box.

Union Jacks did us proud. Thank you to manager Ed for looking after us so well. The workshop hosts gave generously of their time and we had a good turnout! The treasure trail will be running for 3 weeks, so plenty of time to complete the puzzle and win a great prize.

In addition to the Herbal High Road and knot garden in Chiswick, there are three more Edbile High Roads around London. In Askew Road, Lewisham and Forest Hil. Estate Agents Findlay Brewer made this video of the Edible Askew Road…
