Coalo replaced two removed willow trees on Fauconberg Road (at the corner of St Thomas’ Road, one subsequently died after Abundance briefly stopped watering it). Abundance received permission to create a garden space in the tarmac areas around the trees. Slowly the tarmac began to come to life, with hedges of rosemary and erysimum, California poppies, irises, knautia and other colourful drought-friendly plants showing that even the toughest corner can become a thing of beauty and biodiversity.
“I walk past this most days, it is quite lovely.”
