Overview
- Abundance London is a volunteer-led environmental organisation (est. 2010) dedicated to greening urban spaces, harvesting surplus fruit, and connecting people with nature.
- Funding from the JJM Fund, managed by The Talent Fund, enabled our first paid role – Head of Community Projects (1 day/week) – greatly increasing organisational capacity and community reach.
- 2025 marked our busiest and most impactful year to date.
Key Achievements
- Volunteers: Expanded from ~170 to ~250 active volunteers; over 1,050 hours contributed across 60+ events.
- Community Gardens: Record number of gardens across Hounslow & Ealing; increased quality green areas, improved biodiversity, reduced littering, and fostered stronger community ties.
- Harvesting: Collected 1,472 kg of fruit from 95 trees; majority donated to City Harvest for redistribution to food banks.
- Apple Day: Attracted 1,000+ attendees; 985 cups of juice served; ~150 volunteer hours contributed.
- Plant Nursery: Rescued & reused ~620 plants, promoting circular sustainability.
- Bulb Planting: Planted 12,500 bulbs across local sites, brightening neighbourhoods for spring.
- Training & CPD: Reached 125 participants through workshops on biodiversity, pollinators, grafting, and sustainable gardening.
- Leveraged other projects and funders by example and inspiration.
