Platinum Jubilee art competition and exhibition
Summer of culture 2022
We are inviting all Chiswick Primary and Secondary Schools to participate in a community run High Street Exhibition 28th May – 11th June.
Winning Artworks will be displayed as A1 Stamps / posters in the windows of 70 Chiswick High Street Businesses.
Prizes awarded
For winners in all key stages.
2 winners per primary school (key stage 1 & key stage 2)
3 winners per secondary school (key stage 3 & key stage 4 and sixth form)
- All works must be collaborative
- Judged by School / Art Depts
- Deadline 6th May
- High Street Exhibition 28th May – 11th June

The details
Who Are We…
The project is coordinated by Tanya Saunders of Make+Paint Art Clubs and Tommy Robinson Head of Drama at Chiswick Secondary School and Coordinator of Creative and Performing Arts. We have local Chiswick support from the charity Abundance London (the Butterfly wall)
The Brief….
We would like the students from each school to work in groups to produce an image that represents their unique interpretations of what the Platinum Jubilee means to them collectively. Helpful watchwords may include UK, Britain, Monarchy, Nationalism, Tradition, Inclusivity, Commonwealth, Empire, Change.
The ArtWorks….
The winning Artworks will be digitally photographed and reproduced as A1 Postage Stamps. There will be 35 winning ‘Stamps’ and they will be displayed in 70 Chiswick High Street Shop/business windows for 2 weeks including the jubilee weekend.
We will produce a PDF map, available by download for everyone, identifying the locations of the artworks and participating businesses.
We hope to produce souvenir postcards commemorating the event and available for sale to everyone.
The artworks will be on Exhibition after the fortnight display period at a site tbc.
The Competition….
Each School key stage will be awarded one prize. The judging of the works will be undertaken by the schools themselves. Two winners will be chosen in primary schools (ks1 & ks2) and 3 in secondary schools (ks4 & ks5 & sixth form) Prizes for each winning work.
